Descriptions of Volunteer Positions and Committees
FIELD DIRECTOR This individual is responsible for making sure that at home games we are all set up and ready to go. The spotters, weigh in coordinators and Chain gang volunteers with check in with them to sign in and out of their duties to receive their hours. They must also make sure that the announcers, timekeepers and field set up and clean up crews check in with them prior to each game for their hours.
PEP RALLY COMMITTEE Work with the Board to set up the Mother Son football game. Arrange small pep rally before Homecoming with each squad responsible for a dish (dessert, appetizer, plates, napkins, cups and pop). Also get people to help with clean-up.
BANQUET COMMITTE Arrange, plan and coordinate the football and cheerleading end of the season awards night and Banquet.
SPIRITWEAR SALES COMMITTEE Sell programs, yearbooks, videos and take orders for sweatshirts, T-shirts, and other Gator items at practice, pep rally and games.
UNIFORM/EQUIPMENT HANDOUT Football: Assist the equipment manager and coaches with the set-up, measurement and distribution of football equipment/uniforms at beginning of season and assist at the end of the season with the collection and return of football equipment/uniforms for all teams. Cheerleading: Work with Director and coaches with the distribution of cheerleading uniforms at the beginning of the season and assist at the end of the season with the collection and return of cheer uniforms.
YEARBOOK COMMITTEE Plan, organizes, and develop yearbook for football players and cheerleaders.
SNACK COORDINATOR Organize parents from all three Cheerleading squads to provide snacks and drinks at half time for each game.
SUPER CHEER COMMITTEE Many individuals are needed to help with this end of the year competition. We need people to organize food, t-shirt orders, video taping the girls, picture taking, balloons for the stands etc.
HOMECOMING COMMITTEE Get best pricing on orange and blue carnations for parents, decorate the float, decorate the home stands with orange and blue balloons, pictures, help direct parents about posters that need to be made, decorating the arch for the court to come through. The decorating must all be done prior to the start of the freshman game at 11:00.
GAME DAY ACTIVITIES FOR HOME AND AWAY GAMES Spotters – Responsible for monitoring player participation during a game. Notifies team coach pf players who need to enter the game for additional plays six minutes prior to each half ending. Game Day Pictures - Responsible for taking candid pictures at games of players, cheerleaders and fans. (Give these on disk to Maureen Paul the Registrar) One person is needed for each game. Water - Responsible for bringing the water jug filled to games. One person is needed per game per team.
GAME DAY ACTIVTIES FOR ALL HOME GAMES Chain Gang: Works the chains during the home games. Parents for each unit are needed for this job and are required for each game. Announcers: Responsible for announcing at all home games. One is needed for each game. Field Set-up/Prep: Assist in decorating and preparing field for the games. Field Clean-up: Clean up field and stands after each football game. 50/50 raffle: Individuals are needed to sell 50/50 raffle tickets. Concessions: Many individuals are needed to run and work concession stands for all four home games. Sign up to work when your child is not participating in the game you will not be able to watch them otherwise. Gator Shack Sales: Several Individuals are needed for each game to sell spirit wear, videos of the game, programs, and yearbooks.
SPONSORSHIPS/FUNDRAISER This committee will help us to find individuals and businesses to buy add space, banners, or donate funds for t-shirts for mini camp etc.
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR This individual is responsible for making sure that they are available for the parents and the coaches to act as a liaison between the two. They will be the individual for parents to go to if they cannot get a situation solved with their coach first.
